Windows Phones Controlled by PC Through Redfly

Celio Corporation revealed the latest in software where phones run by Windows can now be controlled from any desktop computer. The “Redfly Mobile Viewer” software is now compatible with 54 smartphones and has a screen resolution that reaches up to 1024 x 768 pixels.
This latest technology talks about a software driver that allows any Windows mobile phone to be run from an outside or external device. The PC has to be operating under Windows XP or Windows Vista. Connection between the two devices is done thru USB 2.0 that allows the phone to be fully controllable from the PC. Operations are emulated on on-screen icons of a phone’s buttons like Home, Mail, Send, Web, Start, and End.
Celio further reports that they have increased the speed on USB and Bluetooth connections and has made it compatible with Opera Mobile 9.5 to make it even more stable. It now supports 18 Windows phones from HTC, Samsung and Palm. The Redfly with a seven-inch display costs around $230 and the eight-inch version is at $300. Both have an 800 x 480 video internal screen or an 800 x 600 video external screen.
The Redfly is a netbook that measures 9 x 6 x 1 inches and weighs two pounds. It calls for a phone to be able to operate and is not able to store data, settings or applications of its own. The Redfly is simultaneously the keyboard, charger and screen for the phone.
This idea of running a mobile phone from an external device is not actually original because this has already been done by VNC Server software in 2004. The only difference lies in the higher resolution offered by Celio. Celio president Kirt Bailey reveals his vision that he hopes someday that everyone would only have one computer and that would be his or her smartphone.
Although practical because maneuverability of the cellphone can be done on the netbook, it is still big enough to be a computer itself, minus the applications, data storage and settings of a real PC. Convenience is now a problem because carrying a notebook instead is more functional than carrying the Redfly that will not function at all without the mobile phone compatible with it. Because many buyers saw this loophole, Celio thought of simply creating the new Redfly Mobile Viewer, the software that can run on any notebooks or regular desktop computers.
