Upcoming iPhone Software Version 3.0

The version 3.0 iPhone software will be unveiled next week in Cupertino, California.

Currently, Apple’s mobile phone, the iPhones, are using the version 2.2.1 (Build 5H11) OS that was released in the early weeks of this year. The version 2.0 was the last major update that warranted its own event just like the scheduled update next week. The iPhone software version 2.0 was released at the same time with the iPhone 3G. The version 2.0 of the iPhone software included features that are enterprise-friendly like batch email deletion, Cisco VPN, MobileMe, Exchange Sync, and the capability to use multiple iCal calendars. But the highlight of version 2.0 release was the inclusion of the iPhone App Store.

The upcoming release of the iPhone software version 3.0 is still a mystery as to what will be included in the update. But so far there were updates made with the release of iTunes 8.1 which were interesting and there were rumors as well coming from Apple’s touchscreen supplier, Wintek, that it is working with the company to develop new products. It seems like Apple is still keeping its reputation in keeping all things in secret until the release date.
