TRENDnet Dual Band Wireless USB Adapter Launched

TRENDnet, wireless networking hardware brand, had officially launched their newest wireless USB adapter that is compatible with PC and Mac computers. The TEW-664UB is a 300Mbps Dual Band wireless N adapter which offers an uncontested Dual Band performance according to TRENDnet.

The Dual Band technology let users network their computers wirelessly using the popular 2.4GHz or 5GHz radio frequency. The 2.4GHz frequency is more commonly used in most wireless devices and gadgets of today including the new wireless N devices as well as the older wireless G and B products. With all the wireless devices using the 2.4GHz frequency, some thinks that it is already congested and might not deliver the expected wireless performance that a device was designed for. In any case, technology is constantly evolving and new products improve over time even if the frequency remains the same throughout the ages.

Setting up the TEW-664UB is easy and fast according to TRENDnet because it is using the WPS or Wi-Fi protected technology. Sadly there were no details as to how can setup be fast and easy without publishing the steps on how to do it.

As for driver concern, Mac users will have to download the drivers from the company’s website since it is not included with the product. Unlike PC users, the PC drivers are already bundled with the TRENDnet Dual Band Wireless N USB adapter. For first time users of wireless connectivity it is better if you download the drivers first before attempting to setup a wireless network.
