As if a dual GPU powered laptop is not enough, Toshiba unleashed a new laptop that sports two GeForce 9800M GTS cards in SLI configuration, and a GeForce 9400M – all packed into one.
This is Toshibo’s latest laptops, the Qosimo X305-Q706 and X305-Q708. Both of the units come with integrated GeForce 9400M that uses minimal laptop battery power. The surprise comes in the 9800M GTS cards in SLI mode that you can use if you hardcore 3D rendering.
Although Apple produced the first workstation to utilize Nvidia’s new GeForce 9400M GPU thru a MacBook, Toshiba’s new line of Qosimo extreme computer makes Apple’s new mac virtually eat dusts.
The standard configuration sports a 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo P8400 and 4GB of RAM. Toshiba Qosimo X305-Q708 comes with a quad-core 2.53GHz Core 2 Extreme QX9300 CPU.
The new laptops run on a 16 stream processors clocked at 1.4GHz as standard, with a 580MHz GPU core clock. Vice president of product development for Toshiba’s US digital products division, Carl Pinto noted that their company ‘wanted to deliver an extreme-performance gaming machine that gives gamers a complete, non-compromising system in a laptop form factor.’ And with this new laptop, they are not far from achieving that.
The Qosimo X305-Q706 and X305-Q708 are available and will cost $1,999 at least.
