Inspiron Mini 10 Now Live on Dell’s Website

Finally, after a considerable long wait, Dell’s Inspiron Mini 10 finally appeared on their website, and it sure looks like the wait was worth it as the appearance was packed with product details and more pictures!

Dell earlier unveiled a 3- x 3-foot cubical at CES and to our surprise, tada, the new Inspiron Mini 10 series.

The computer sports .1-inch display, 802.11b/g WiFi and optional Bluetooth 2.1. It has HDMI out and external DVD drive. The basic unit has 160GB of HDD and 1GB of RAM. Another noticeable feature is the size of the keyboard, it has 92 percent the size of standard laptop unit and it also has a multitouch trackpad, pretty much like that of MacBook Air.

There is also an internal TV tuner and your choice of a 3-cell (3 hours) or 6-cell (6.5 hours) – talk about entertainment with power.

Inspiron Mini 10 is now available for pre-order at Dell’s website.

Toshiba Unveils Four New Satellite Pro S300-series Laptops

Toshiba shook the tech world with the release of four new satellite Pro S300 series notebook PCs. Feature EasyGuard technology, the four computers Satellite Pro S300-EZ1511, S300-EZ1512, S300-EZ1513 and S300-EZ1514 cater to the business class users.

First two in the line are the Satellite Pro S300-EZ1511 and S300-EZ1512. Both of these computers use Intel Pentium T3400 processor. These have 1GM RAM and 120GB hard drive. It has the usual Atheros 802.11 b/g wireless LAN. The only difference between them is the GPU. Satellite Pro S300-EZ1511 is a bit basic with integrated GMA 4500M video card and Windows Vista while S300-EZ1512 has GMA 4500MHD graphics and Windows Vista Business OS.

Third on the lineup is the Satellite Pro S300-EZ1513 and it outpowers the ealier two models by using Intel Core 2 Duo T6400. Its 160GB HD is more than enough to store your business data. It also uses GMA 4500MHD graphic card and carries Intel’s WiFi Link 5100AGN5 module that works well for WiFi a/g/n.

The most advanced unit in the Satellite Pro S300 family is the S300-EZ1514 and it is powered with Core 2 Duo T6570 processor and 2GB RAM. Same graphics card as the others but it has WiFi 802.11a/g/n and has a built-in webcam for video conferencing perhaps.

All of these models have 15.4 inch widescreen display, eSATA/USB combo port and DVD SuperMulti burner.

Satellite Pro S300-EZ1511 and S300-EZ1512 are priced $529 and $579 respectively. Pro S300-EZ1513 can be yours for $649 while the Satellite Pro S300-EZ1514 is tagged at $699.

Olidata Conte Ultraportable Unveiled

Not every new release debuts at the CES; the Olidata Conte ultraportable is a fine example of that.

Olidata Conte ultraportable may be beating up other thin laptops very soon. It has 13.3-inch clear LCD screen with 16:9 contrast ratio and 1366×768 display resolution.

Reports indicated that there will be two versions, one with a 16:10, 1280×800 display, and one widescreen with a 16:9, 1366×768 display. Both of these units will sport Core 2 Duo processor. They will also have optional built-in 3G or WiMAX. Battery according to the manufacturer lasts up to four hours. The higher contrast ratio version has added features like Intel Turbo Memory, a fingerprint reader, a classy backlit keyboard, and 3GB of RAM.

Olidata Conte Ultraportable will be available in Europe this coming May. It will be around US$1,300.

CTL’s 2go Convertible Classmate PC Now Out

CTL finally released its 2go convertible classmate computer. 2go classmate PC’s existence has long been rumored. After a year of unconfirmed news, the mobile PC with rotatable screen is finally out.

The device made its debut at CES 2009 just as predicted. There are a few things noteworthy about the convertible computer like its screen size. Measuring at 8.9-inch, the computer perfectly qualifies as a netbook (if not for its being convertible). It is powered by 1.6GHz Atom 270 CPU, 1GB of RAM and a 60GB HDD. The screen allows resolution of up to 1024 x 600.

The rotating screen allows users to convert traditional laptop into a fully working tablet. It comes with a stylus for complete tablet experience.

2go convertible runs in Windows XP. Just in case you prefer Linux, well there is no announcement yet if the company will release a version capable of that. The tag is at $549.

HP Exposes 13.3-inch Pavilion dv3 Entertainment Laptop

HP is joining the race on producing ultraportable entertainment systems, and with the release of the 13.3-inch Pavilion dv3 anybody can say that they are still on the competition.

As stated above, the new netbook is width is 13.3 inches and its processing speed ranges from 2GHz to 2.4GHz thru Athlon X2 QL-62 and Turion X2 Ultra ZM-86 respectively.
Its GPU is rated at 8GB (DDR2 RAM ATI’s Radeon HD 3200) and has dual-layer DVD burner. It also has WiFi, Bluetooth and gigabit Ethernet connectivity support. It has three USB 2.0 ports, as well as VGA, HDMI and eSATA combo.

HP also described the unit as lean and loaded. Now you have read the specifications that make it loaded, the lean part is mainly because of its weigh. It tips the scale at 4.35 pounds. Its screen also has a LED BrightView backlit display and a built-in optical drive that makes it rather sexy.

As this is an entertainment laptop, it is bundled with HP MediaSmart software. That softare allows users to enjoy photos, listen to music and watch Internet TV or HD movies and even contents from its partner services like MTV Networks television (Comedy Central and Nickelodeon).

All those specs come for a basic price of $799. Addons are available for additional price.

$200 Eee PC Netbook Coming Next Year

Asus will released a $200 Eee PC Netbook this coming 2009. This announcement was made by Jerry Shen CEO of the Taiwan based computer manufacturer.

Reports indicated that this netbook will even be smaller than the current Asus netbooks which measures 10-inch in width. Based on the report of DigiTimes, the CEO also cleared the announcement that their company will release 20 million netbooks in 2009. According to the CEO that number was only a goal and is never meant to be announced publicly.

Asustek’s introduction of the netbook thru the Eee PC brought a new ear in mobile computing. Netbooks which is currently categorized as small laptops with price lower than $500 now owns a large percentage in computer market. Asus currently share the netbook market with Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Sony and others.

A special report revealed that netbooks boosted the PC market by offering cheap and efficient mobile computers to the public. Statistics show that netbooks sales currently constitute more than 5% of the total PC market, a number that continuously increases according to some analysts.

Fujitsu Releases New Lifebook A6220 Laptop with Blu-ray, UWB, Swappable Colour Shells

Fuitsu released a new Lifebook laptop that has Blu-ray system, UWB and swappable colour shells. This Lifebook A6220 and it is the most high-end laptop from Fujitsu to date.

The laptop sports changeable casing that comes for an additional fee. This laptop’s hardware is packed by powerful processors and chips. It has an HDMI-out and Centrino 2 p8400 Core 2 Duo processor. Its memory runs sweet with 4 GB RAM with 1.9 GB of HyperMemory support and ATI Radeon HD 3470 advanced graphics.

The new laptop also boasts a touchpad almost similar to a trackpad. It has gesture-enabled touchpad for where users can freely zoom and scroll at their finger’s whim. The unit also comes with wireless USB support. There is also a fingerprint sensor for added security.

The changeable covers come in red, gold and purple colours and are tagged at $US20 each. The Lifebook A6220 comes in $US1299 or $1US499 configurations.
