K2000 is not an experimental camera, yet its design is nothing short of extraordinary. The white camera sports a few advanced specs. This camera comes in complete with 18-55mm and 50-200mm lenses.

This white camera was announced December last year, and immediately gained fans calling it the camera of Storm Troppers, after the classic movie series, Star Wars.

The camera is tagged at $679.95, more than a hundred bucks cheaper than earlier predicted. Save your energy for the meantime as shipping will not start until February. At least you get to allocate money for your Valentine gift and your love for photography. It is a limited edition camera so the pre-order pretty much makes a lot of sense.

Pentax gave a not so holiday related make over to its K2000. The camera is now colored under the inspiration of Star Wars Imperial stormtroopers and cookie, as noted by blogs Engadget and CNET.

Despite the change in case color, the camera still carry the same specifications that made it atop professional and hobbyist photographers. It has options for DA L 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL and smc DA L 50-200mm F4-5.6 AL. The whole body is color white except for buttons and the 18-55mm and 50-200mm lenses that is shaded black.

But since this is a limited edition product, analysts say that it will go beyond the tag of $800 – price of the regular and not so colorful K2000.

The product will be released in February 2009.

The plug-in took slightly less than a month before it was released to the public. Testing and reconfiguration was done to make it work with some of the best DSLR models. The release of the plug-in now includes support for a wide range of camera including Canon’s new EOS Rebel XS for beginners, its brand-new midrange EOS 50D, Nikon’s newly released midrange D90 and full-frame D700, Pentax’s newest entry-level model, the K2000, and Sony’s high-end 24-megapixel full-frame Alpha A900.

Adobe Systems also released an upgraded version of the DNG Converter software. The application allows conversion of high memory eating images file into a friendlier and easier to handle DNG format (Adobe Digital Negative format).

The DNG Converter software now also supports several medium-format products from Leaf, the Aptus II 6 and 7 digital backs and AFi II 6 and 7 camera bodies. The Olympus SP-565 UZ, Sigma DP1, and the Nikon Coolpix P6000 and the rather rare model from Fujifilm FinePix IS Pro is now also being supported. Fujifilm FinePix IS Pro is the camera that is used for infrared photography.

IT also carries the Pentax Dust Removal system, allowing users to take care of the camera as easy as clicking the shutter button. The camera also has the Shake Reduction technology present in other Pentax K series cameras.

The DSLR has a fresh Auto Picture Mode. Thru this, photographers can choose from Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Action and Night Portrait modes at a single touch.

Furthermore, the Pentax K2000 offers a new Auto Picture Mode, which selects from Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Action and Night Portrait modes to tailor the camera settings for beginners. The camera also comes with an integrated help support where it explains the current settings of the camera as it guides the user of the interface and general DSLR photography.

This camera will be available in November and will be sold for $700.
