PS3 controller driver for PC gaming

PS3 controllers are supposedly for PS3 consoles. But how about using your PS3 controllers for playing games in your PC? This is not a joke because you can practically use the controllers in your PC.

This is possible after a Japanese software programmer has created and released a Microsoft Windows XP/Vista compatible drivers for PlayStation 3’s SixAxis and DualShock3 controllers. Though the coder is Japanese, it is not Sony who released the drivers. Sony has never released any software or drivers which will enable its controllers for PC gaming. These are unofficial releases which work only on the PS3 SixAxis and DualShock3 models. Compatibility is also limited to hard-wired USB operation.

There are four drivers that were unofficially released. The ds3drv_1.02 (normal driver), ds3drv_dx_1.02 (dx driver), SDDriverSetting (utility for tweaking some settings) and the ForceFeedbackDriver (rumble driver) but you need to install the first two drivers for this to work. Installing the drivers is not a guarantee though that you can use your PS3 controller for PC gaming. But surely there are some who were successful in installing the drivers. The interface is in Japanese so you might as well check the instructions in English first before installing or downloading it.
