Apple Rolls Out New MacBooks
Apple at last revealed the much-awaited series of new MacBooks. Rumors that circulated for days were finally ended as the company unveiled high-end MacBook Pro and new consumer MacBook lines.
These new units sport a rather unconventional casing. Apple utilized a special technology of cutting the entire outer shell for the casing from a single block of aluminium. The company professes that this process gave birth to a sturdier and cleaner looking MacBook.
According to the senior vice president of industrial design at Apple Jonathan Ive, Traditionally notebooks are made from multiple parts. With the new MacBook, we’ve replaced all of those parts with just one part, the ‘unibody’.
The new design moreover allowed for a new glass trackpad. This new trackpad is larger and will therefore be of greater use, increasing over all functionality of the MacBook.
The new MacBook is currently tagged at $1,299 at least. The new MacBook Pro costs higher and it is available for $1,999. There reports that the company is planning to drop the price of its MacBook to $999.
The $1,999 tag for MacBook Pro can be increased should the buyer decide to add a 128GB SSD drive to his unit.
