Flash in iPhone?

The iPhone browser is in the limelight again with regards to its Flash support. This came after an interview with Shantanu Narayen. The Adobe chief said his company is still trying to develop a version of Flash software for the iPhone, and it is for Adobe to do so.

Even before the iPhone officially launched speculation about whether the implementation of Adobe’s Flash multimedia software system, which is immensely popular with other phones, will be incorporated with the iPhone web browser. Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, had said before that Flash is not yet ready for the iPhone. But even then, Adobe had expessed its intention to have Flash in the mobile.

The problem arose again after a little feedback from Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, who was interviewed last week in a Bloomberg Television during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. According to Narayen, it has been challenging to build a Flash version for the iPhone and the task is mostly for Adobe to find a solution.

It is unclear whether Adobe is working closely with Apple, or just as a third party application developer, although Narayen once noted that Adobe is still interested in working with Apple so that Flash can be made available to the iPhone. In any case, fully integrated support for Flash for the iPhone OS may not still be realized in the near future.

Most people think that Flash is usually used for video streaming, it is more than that. Though it is part of what the Flash technology does, it is a more than a video driver.

Silicon Mountain Releases Atom-based Allio Lite LCD TV-PC

Silicon Mountain unveiled its new Atom-based Allio Lite LCD TV-PC, a non-silent successor to the first Allio LCD TV-PCs by the company unleashed few months ago.

There is not much different with this new one compared to its predecessor. It still sports the 1080p resolution of the 42-inch model and the 720p resolution of the 32-inch, what’s noteworthy however is the system that powers them.

In case you missed the title of this article, this TV-PC is powered by an atom-based processor. The Atom 330 processor is backed with 250GB hard drive, 2GB of RAM, and a DVD drive. There is no blu-ray option so you can’t really push this thing any further. It comes in preinstalled with Windows Vista Home Premium.

If you’re in doubt how this machine impresses the masses then listen to what one of their big bosses has to say. “We have been overwhelmed by the positive reception and accolades that Allio and Allio Lite HDTV/PC received at the 2009 Consumer Electronics show,” said Tre’ Cates, President and CEO of Silicon Mountain Holdings, Allio’s parent company.

The 42-inch version is tagged at $1,599 while the 32-inch version can be yours for $1,299.
