Dell 1235cn – Colour Laser Multifunction Review
Dell is reputably a wide range printer producer and 1235cn has come as a surprise. It looks like Samsung CLX-3175W. But don’t get that impression yet. I have here an article review that will give you some insights about the product.
Dell 1235cn is brand new and it has notable dissimilarities from other printers. Let us start with its appearance. It’s physically black all throughout carrying piano black control panel and the rest of the case in black texture. It’s about the size of a common laser multifunction mono. There is a full-width control panel in front and on its top is a scanner and a 15-sheet ADF (Auto Document Feeder).
A backlit 2 line x 16 character LCD display is good in signaling messages like reduction/enlargement ratio set and number of copies. At the right are function keys for copy, fax and scan and a square navigation control carrying “under process” jobs. The right portion shows the number pad helpful for fax dialling. And the scan, start and stop copy jobs buttons are on the right-hand end corner.
There is a dual function USB socket (both for PictBridge and USB) on the right hand corner of the control panel. The base of the front panel contains a single 150 sheet tray. This is so meager and has no multi-purpose feed. Sockets for Ethernet and USB, an optional phone handset and a fax line cable are at the back of the printer.
In capsule, here are some of Dell 1235cn pros: generally, this Dell printer is a nice small office printer which costs less than £60 compared to Samsung devices. It’s very compact but with multi-function capabilities. Its copy functionality is fast and very straight forward. The network driver automatically searches for connected printer on the network.
And here are some of its cons:iIt has no wireless networking. The print is just about average in color. It will take time to adjust the paper tray for letter size documents and user will only be puzzled with the instructions that go with it. Another big dissatisfaction is the unavailability of manual feed. If you need to print envelopes for instance, you would have to drag the tray out, unload the letter, resize and reload the tray. The tray is another issue; it’s too flimsy that reloading it again and again will let you feel that you’re going to break it anytime.
Dell once again proves its outstanding status with Dell 1235cn – Colour Laser MFP. Though there are bit of problems and lacking features compatible for Mac and Windows, it can nevertheless be of big help to users. Undisputedly, this is another versatile multifunction printer on Dell’s increasing product line.
