Nextar Releases Z10 LCoS Micro Projector

Nextar release what is perhaps the next in mobile image projection with the new Z10 LCoS Micro Projector.

The device is micro and it can readily fit in the palm of your hand. It has 20-inch screen and weights less then 2.5 pounds. Eddy Zheng, Nextar founder noted that their device “can be used virtually anywhere.”

Nextar Z10 LCoS which is short for liquid crystal on silicon displays images with resolution of 640×480, this resolution according to report is the higher than other projectors. The unit allows brightness level of up to 12 lumens. It also has a 360-degree lens that can be adjusted manually.

It is complete with connectors such as USB port and I/O connectors. Users can attach USB data source or MicroSD to draw in data to be projected. The projector can also display video in AVI, MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, RM/RMVB, ASF, FLV, and WMV9/VC1 formats. Audio is compatible with MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, APE, ALAC, and MPEG1/2/2.5 formats.

The Z10 micro projector is tagged $299.99 and people will get a chance to see the device this coming CES 2009.
