LG Unveils Special Illuminated LCD

LG Electronics released a new illuminated LCD that works both indoors and outdoors.

Contrary to common belief that this new LCD is only suited for outdoor use, the screen works perfectly even when it is place inside of your home.

The new LCD is one of LG electronics’ products to be showcased at the 2009 CES. Its application is the new 14.1-inch laptop display. The screen will carry a proud label of “Backlight Data Signal Switching Technology” which readily means that can have indoor and outdoor modes for your monitor, a feature that customizes effect for high-luminance and low-light indoor settings.

The reflective mode of the LCD has a record of 75% power reduction – a very good reason to consider it a green monitor. It also showcases a 9:1 contrast ratio which based on reviews a very good improvement.

A review from Engadget tells that the new product is comparable to Epson’s 3.5-inch a-TFT, only newer.

We can expect to know the market release and price of this product in the coming CES 2009.
