HP Releases Photosmart D5460 Inkjet Printer

HP releases another printer that is catered towards modern day photographers. The new HP Photosmart D5460 sports a few standout features that cannot be seen in other photographer printers.

The new Photosmart D5460 has a remarkable printing speed. Testing of the printer revealed that it can print more than 11 pages full of text in a minute. It can also print more than 3 pages of paper with images. The printer’s tray can store up to 125 sheets of paper.

The printer can also handle paper size of up to 5 inches by 7 inches. There is a separate tray should you wish to print CD or DVD covers. The input for CD/DVD covers is in the front bay of the printer.

If you find most printers use inks too much, this printer dares to be different. It has an extra black ink that is pigment-based. It is specially made for printing text. The new ink is actually a support to HP’s original base of colored inks. This ink is made to print texts cheaply.

Photosmart uses economical inks. It has regular cartridges that are tagged for $10 each, for all five inks. There is a high capacity version of cartridges however, so if you are a hardcore printer user, you can go for it. One regular cartridge can print about 300 pages of materials, giving an average cost of 3.3 cents per page. The bigger cartridge according to HP can print 750 pages of text materials, giving a 2 cents cost per page output.
