Canon Launches PIXMA MP980 All-In-One Printer

Canon released the printer to rule all printers! The new PIXMA MP980 All-In-One printer promises to give more options than any other available desktop printers for photographers to date.

The PIXMA MP980 Photo AIO is a printer dedicated to photography enthusiasts. Needless to say, it is a printer that every photographer would want. It allows Wi-Fi or Ethernet wireless printing and other friendly functions.

The new PIXMA has a six-color ink tank. This setup is actually part of Canon’s ChromaLife100, a system devoted to giving every printout a vibrant and long lasting effect. There is also an option to print black and white images without resulting into dull and lifeless pictures. This is because of the Easy Photo Print Pro software that comes with purchase of every printer. It allows the production of monochromatic images with the silver halide print quality.

This new printer can produce a 4 by 6 inch quality pictures in as fast as 20 seconds. The new printer is compatible with a wide range of print and fine art papers for picture printing.

MP980 is also equipped with a film scanning technology, where users can simply use negatives or slides for reflectives in order to print images.

The new PIXMA MP980 Photo All-In-One printer will be sold for $299.99. Canon also released a high-tech printer named the PIXMA MP620 Photo All-In-One printer; it will be tagged at $149.99. The company is yet to announce the exact product release date. .
